As we head through tonight, look for snow to continue to expand north and east. The snow could be heavy at times. If heavier snow rates do develop they may overtake wet roads and start to accumulate as we head into the evening. Snow will gradually end by late evening. Snow totals of 2”-3” look likely at this point, but there could be some amounts up to 5” across parts of southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa and parts of southwest through central Wisconsin. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY continues for the area through midnight. Be alert for rapidly changing road conditions over short distances. Lows tonight will range for the upper teens to middle 20s.

Looking ahead… much of the period looks dry with partly to mostly sunny skies the rule. We’ll pick up a chance of rain and snow showers Monday and Tuesday.

As far as temperatures are concerned, look for them to start in the teens Thursday, then slowly warm into the into the upper 30s to lower 40s for the weekend into early next week.

Have a great night, but keep a close eye on roads conditions heading through tonight. –WKBT Cory Malles
